A Tradition Of Trusted Quality!

Company Profile

Phyto-Riker (GIHOC) Pharmaceuticals Ghana Ltd (“PRG”) is the premier manufacturer of pharmaceuticals in West Africa. PRG is characterized by unparalleled production capacity and supply networks capable of servicing the entire sub-region and beyond. Through leveraging its West African network and increasing the Ghanaian market share, PRG is positioned to grow substantially over the next few years. PRG is also one of the two ISO 9001-2015 Certified Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Companies in West Africa.

PRG’S product portfolio includes over 60 different products sold in various dosage and package forms. The products are heavily oriented towards the “Essentials Drugs List”, particularly anti-infectives and analgesics, 30 of the various products are registered across different West African Anglophone and Francophone countries such as Ghana, Liberia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Mali, The Gambia, Niger, Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Cote d’lvoire and Burkina Faso. This notwithstanding, current management is in the process of steaming the registration practice by placing different country markets in appropriate tiers to facilitate the requisite marketing strategies.

PRG is uniquely positioned in the African market to manufacture products specifically tailored to the African marketplace. Its production capabilities feature product development and dispensing, granulation, tablet compression and encapsulation, film coating, an internal process and controls center, packaging and repackaging facility.

For penicillin products and its derivatives, a separate 5,000 sq. ft. purposely built facility has been contructed to avoid cross contamination with other products.

The whole production value chain is complete with intermediate storage and associated record keeping system for batch manufacturing and packaging. Each stage is managed by at least a senior level manager following laid down Standard Operation Procedures (“SOP”) which are continually reviewed and endorsed annually by the world class Quality Assurance division.

PRG’s commitment to quality control is the hallmark of its production process and few, if any West African manufacturers can match this standard.

PRG has successfully develop new products that are specifically designed and formulated for the African consumers and based on health conditions endemic to Africa. Building on a product portfolio of both branded and generic products, PRG is now concluding a development program that will regularly review product formulations, dosage forms, packaging, and cost structures.

These product assessments are now being done in collaboration with the sales and Marketing team in order to optimize the product line for the future.
